Yes, a lash lift works on most short and straight lashes, and you would be surprised at what we are able to do with lashes that have never held a curl. Short or straight lashes can take a little more skill and a little more conversation up front, so we always invite you to call or text us a few close up photos of your lashes before you book your lash lift in Denver, and we will tell you honestly what we see. A lash lift at Wax & Lash takes about 45 minutes to an hour, lasts six to eight weeks, and is $90, or $110 with a lash tint.

We hear this question almost every day at our Berkeley and Central Park studios. So many of our clients have spent years curling their lashes and layering on mascara, and they come to us wondering whether a lash lift is even possible for them. If you have been searching for the best lash lift in Denver for short or straight lashes, here is how we think about it, and how we help you find out before you ever lie down on the treatment table.

Can you do a lash lift for short lashes?

In most cases we can, and shorter lashes often open up beautifully once they are lifted and set. A lash lift gently curls your own natural lashes up from the root, so even lashes on the shorter side can look longer and brighter when they are finally pointing the right way. We find that we can do most lashes, including lashes that grow out very straight. Shorter and straighter lashes can be a little more difficult, which is why we like to take a look first, although that never means we cannot do them.

Why do lashes that grow downward take more work?

Every lash has its own natural direction. When your lashes already point up a little, it is easy to curl them further up, because they only have a short way to go. When lashes grow downward, they have to travel many more miles to come all the way up, so it takes more careful work to get that same lifted look. Knowing this ahead of time lets your esthetician plan how to set your lashes based on the way they naturally grow.

Why do some lashes not take a lash lift?

Lashes are a lot like the hair on your head, and every once in a while a client’s lashes simply will not take a curl. There is no rhyme or reason to it, and it is nothing you did wrong. It does not happen often, and it is one more reason we talk through everything with you before your lash lift, so you know exactly what to expect and we can make the best plan for your lashes together.

How can I find out if a lash lift will work for my lashes?

The very best way is to stop by either studio and let one of our estheticians take a look in person. If that is not easy for you, pictures help us so much. Call or text us at 720-550-6673 and send a few very close up photos of your lashes, one taken straight on and one from the side, so we can see their length and the direction they grow.

We would much rather communicate a little more up front than get halfway through your appointment and realize a lift is not going to work for you. Good communication respects your time and ours, and it means you walk in already knowing what your lashes are capable of.

Should I add a lash tint if my lashes are short or fair?

Many of our clients with short or light lashes love adding a lash tint, because a darker lash shows off the curl and makes your lashes look longer and fuller without any mascara at all. A lash lift is $90, a lash tint is $30, and a lift and tint together is $110 at both our Berkeley and Central Park studios.

How long does a lash lift last?

A lash lift lasts six to eight weeks, which is about one full lash growth cycle. The curl does not wash out; it slowly grows out as your natural lashes shed and new ones come in, so most of our clients rebook every six to eight weeks. Keep your lashes completely dry for the first 24 hours, and starting 48 hours after your lash lift, we recommend Just The Strip lash oil, the same one we use in the studio, to keep your lashes soft, hydrated and holding their curl.

How do I prepare for a lash lift in Denver?

Come to your appointment with clean lashes and no mascara, eyeliner or oil based products, since anything left on the lashes can keep the lift from setting evenly. If you use a lash growth serum, stop using it 48 hours before your lash lift. If you wear contact lenses, bring your case so you can take them out before we begin.

What happens during a lash lift at Wax & Lash?

When you arrive, we welcome you, check you in and offer you a complimentary beverage. You then rest on the treatment table with your eyes closed while your esthetician sets your lashes on a soft silicone rod and lifts them into place. Plan on about 45 minutes to an hour for your lash lift, a little longer if you add a tint. Most clients tell us it is so relaxing they nearly fall asleep, and you can head right back to your day afterward.

Lash lift questions, answered

Will a lash lift work on short or straight lashes?

Yes, a lash lift works on most short and straight lashes. They can take a little more work, so we recommend calling or texting us close up photos of your lashes, straight on and from the side, so we can let you know what to expect before you book.

What if my lashes grow downward?

Lashes that point downward have farther to travel to curl all the way up, so they take more careful work. We can still lift many downward lashes, and we will look at your photos or your lashes in person to plan the best approach.

Can a lash lift fail to take?

Once in a while a client’s lashes will not hold a curl, much like some hair will not hold a style, and there is no clear reason why. It is uncommon, and we talk about it with you before your lash lift so there are no surprises.

How long does a lash lift appointment take?

A lash lift at Wax & Lash takes about 45 minutes to an hour, and a little longer if you add a lash tint.

How much is a lash lift at Wax & Lash?

A lash lift is $90, and a lash lift with tint is $110, at both our Berkeley and Central Park studios in Denver.
